An athlete wants to improve his physical fitness in preparation for a long distance running event. He uses Circuit Training program. Describe two key elements of Circuit Training and its advantages. What alternative training method could the athlete use to get ready for the event?

Explanation

1) It targets strength building and muscular endurance.

2) It also enhance cardiovascular fitness.

Advantages of using a Circuit Training programme are:

It increase the ability of our body to burn calories while in rest. The exerciser gets muscles by doing this training. Circuit training overall increases the amount of oxygen that a person consumes post exercise.

Describe 2 effects of long-term training on the body.

Explanation

  1. Decreases in resting Heart rate. The heart eventually becomes more efficient, and no longer needs to beat as quickly to supply the body with blood while at rest
  2. Improved circulation. In response to the need to supply the muscles with more oxygen during exercise, the body increases its number of capillaries, the smallest blood vessels in the body. Existing capillaries also open wider.
