Indian Flag Showing Its Length and Width

Find the below given calculations

(a) Given that length of Indian Flag is 1.5 times more than that of width, if width of flag is 60 cm, find length of the Indian flag.

(b) If ratio of width and length of flag is 2: 3, if length is 900 mm, find width of the flag.

Explanation

Here,

(a) Length of Indian Flag is 1.5 times more than that of width and width of flag is 60 cm.

So, 2 times means , but here 1.5 times means .

So, length will be 90 cm.

(b) Here, ratio of width and length of flag is 2: 3.

Length is 900 mm. Let’s take width = w.

So, ratio will be: .

The points A and B are marked on the diagram.

Two points are on x-y axis

Two Points Are on X-Y Axis

Showing two points A and B on x-y axis having co-ordinates

(a) Write as a column vector.

(b) . Write down the co-ordinates of C.

Explanation

Here, as shown in figure,

(a) Here, Point A = (2,3) and point B = (3, -4)

So, for vector of , so as a column vector:

(b) Here, , so as a row vector we can write as (-5, -2), let take co-ordinate of C = (x, y) and B (3, -4) is given.

So,

So, C (x, y) = C (-2, -6)
