Read the Passage A carefully, and then answer the following Questions.
CYBER SAFETY
Gladin asks his mother about the mechanism of a screw gauge. His mother advises him to browse the internet. She adds that internet is great tool to gather information and gain knowledge.
The fighter asks mother about their children Gladin and Rani Mother says that Gladin is gathering information in the internet for his science project. She adds that Rani seems to be afraid of something.
Now the father calls her and asks her why she seems dull. Rani tells him about an online friend who used to chat with her. Of late he uses bad words. He threatens to harm her family members if she tells them about the online chatting
Rani’s father advises her not to respond to his message. He would stop chatting in course of time. However if he continued to disturb her.
The father came forward to talk to his parents. Or he would take it up with the cyber police
Then he tells his children about cyber safety. We can share messages with known members only. We should never chat with unknown people. Our personal details like photos, phone number, and Aadhaar number should be kept secret. Strangers might misuse our information without our knowledge.
Internet is a useful device to connect with people around the world. It allows us to watch movies, listen to music, play games and enjoy various other activities.
At the same time there is a risk of getting addicted to mobile phones and internet. Mobile addiction causes headache, weaken eyesight, sleep disorders, depression, stress, social isolation, aggress behavior, financial problems, ruined relationships and no or low professional growth.
The internet and the mobile phone are beneficial to us educationally and socially. But we should limit their usage. We should always remember ‘Too much of anything is good for nothing’.
