  • United Nations adopted the sustainable development goals in 2015 as a step to eliminate poverty, preserve the planet and make sure that people enjoy peace and prosperity by the end of the year 2030. In sustainable development goals there are 17 goals for a balance in the social, economic, and environmental sustainability.
  • The countries have come together for the progress of the nations who are left behind. These countries have pledged to leave no country behind and are committed to keep a track of their progress. Through sustainable development goals countries are contributing to “zeros” i.e.. zero poverty, zero hunger, zero AIDS, and no discrimination against women and girls. Creativity, technological know-how and financial resource is required from different country to achieve the goals of “Sustainable Development Goals.”

The division of labor and specialization is referred to as Occupational Structure. Economy gets more complex if the division of labor is high. The economy develops when the occupational structure develops i.e.. more specialization in the economy.

  • Preliminary stage: Preliminary stage is of economic growth. The workforce is engaged in agricultural and allied occupations tend to decline with the growth of the economy.
  • Higher economic growth: With the observance of higher level of economic growth further there is reduction in workforce engaged in the primary sector.
  • Process of economic growth: Workforce employed in the tertiary sector is more than the workforce in the primary sector.
