What is Millennium Development Goals?

Explanation

The Millennium Development goals originated from the Millennium Declaration adopted by the General assembly of the United Nations in September 2000. Representative from 189 countries met at the Millennium Summit in New York to adopt MDG.

The nations committed themselves to a new global partnership to promote development through a series of time bound goals with a deadline of 2015. In total 8 goals were formed, which have become the Millennium Development Goals. MDGs focus on the national and international priority setting as goal and targets are limited in number, stable over time and being communicated easily to broad audience.
