List three precautions that should be kept in mind while processing personal data.

Explanation

i) The data should be processed lawfully fairly and in a transparent manner in relation to individuals along with fairness and transparency.

ii) The data should be kept accurate and up to date with the specified purpose for which they are processed, are erased or rectified without delay.

iii) While processing data appropriate security should be maintained including protection against unauthorised or unlawful processing and against accidental loss, destruction or damage, using appropriate technical or organisational measures i. e. ‘integrity and confidentiality’. “

In addition to this, the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) sets out seven principles for the lawful processing of personal data Lawfulness, fairness and transparency, Purpose limitation, Data minimization, Accuracy, Storage limitation, Integrity and confidentiality (security) and Accountability.

State three different ways of using computers in Hospitality Industry?

Explanation

Computers help in keeping track of guests’ bills, reservations, room assignments, meetings, and special events. Computers are used to order food, beverages, and supplies along with preparing reports for hotel owners and top-level managers.

i) Front Desk: Computers use intricate software (for example opera) known as Property Management System (PMS) to do all the check ins, guest accounting etc.

ii) Point of Sale System (POS) : It is very popular and useful in the restaurant, lounge, or bar.
