Explain the terms data logging, Check digit, Serial access and assembler.

Explanation

Data Logging: It is the process of collecting and storing data over a period of time in order to analyze specific trends or record the data. Data loggers are sued to ensure compliance with industry specific regulations, and quality and environmental control procedures.

Check digit: It is a form of redundancy check used for error detection on identification numbers, such as bank account numbers. It is analogous to binary parity bit which is used to check for errors in computer-generated data. For example Airline tickets, US Bank routing numbers etc.

Serial access: The data records are stored one after the other with no regard to the order. It is usually an unprocessed file. Magnetic Tapes and Disks are used for storing serial files.

Assembler: It is a program that converts assemble level language into machine language. It also provides necessary information for the loader to load the programme. For example Microsoft Visual Studio.
