List some of the features of Multimedia Presentation.

Explanation

Multimedia Presentation is the use of graphics, video clips, sound clips including text to deliver a suitable message to the audience. The five main elements of Multimedia Presentation are Text, image, audio, video, and animation.

Features or Characteristics

i) Digital representation: This requires instant access to different portions of the presentation. For example in case of a digital computer which store data on random access devices like hard disk, and compact disc.

ii) Non-linearity: It is the capability of ’ jumping’ (an apostrophe in Unicode); or navigating from one point within a presentation to another point without appreciable delay.

iii) Integrity: The media types need to be integrated or be a part of single entity used in the presentation.

iv) Multiple media: This comprises of text, graphics and images, animation, sound, and video.

v) Scope of Interactivity: A user can directly navigate to an area of interest for non-linear presentation. The scope of interaction becomes possible through a set of interactivity elements embedded within the presentation like buttons, menu items or hyperlinks.
