i) Requirement Gathering and Analysis: This is conducted by the senior team members. Planning related to quality assurance requirements and recognition of the risks are also done at this stage.

ii) Design: As per the requirement specification document, the system and software design documents are prepared which eventually helps in understanding the overall system architecture. Two kinds of design documents are developed in this phase High-Level Design and Low-Level Design.

iii) Coding/Development: The Developers write code in this phase using the selected programming language. The tasks are divided into units or modules being assigned assigned to the various developers. It is also the longest phase of the Software Development life Cycle.

iv) Testing: The functionality of the entire system is being tested by the Testing Team once the coding gets completed. This stage is important to verify that the entire application works according to the customer requirement.

v) Maintenance: This stage consists of three activities Bug Fixing, Upgrade and Enhancement.

Bugs may occur due to the scenarios being not tested at all. Upgrade means upgrading the application to new versions of the software. Enhancing means to add some new features into the existing software.
