Describe in Detail

Stomata are small openings found widely scattered on the epidermis of leaves and young stems. Prepare a temporary mount of a leaf peel to show stomata.

Explanation

For this experiment firstly use a healthy leaf and remove a part of the peel from its lower surface. By using, a dropper put some drops of safranin on watch glass. After three minutes take out the peel and place it on a clean glass slide. Then Put a drop of glycerin over the peel and place a clean coverslip gently over it with the help of a needle. Observe the slide under microscope.
