Explanation
Take one by one thread and hold it with forceps. Then burn it in the flame on a heating device . By doing this we observed Natural fibers (cotton, wool) burn without melting while man-made fibers (polyester, nylon) , first become soft and then melt to form a lump before burning. The fibers, which are change into ash on burning, are natural fibers and those, which melt and form a bead before burning are manufactured (synthetic) fibers.
