Reflexes are also important in vital activities such as running, standing and walking.

  • Preparation- Subject begins to gather information about the problem to be solved and attempts some solutions. Stage is characterized by trial and error in learning. Subject is advised to learn as much as possible about the problem area

  • Incubation- In the second stage the solution exists but it is not clear. The subject must not intentionally work on the problem, instead he should advised to relax and reflect on his question which might lead to the modification of the question

  • Illumination- The subject suddenly experiences insight into the problem when a new solution, idea, relationship emerges. In other words the subject attempts to reformulate his ideas or to formulate new ones

  • Verification-Finally the subject tries and checks the solution. Since it is the final stage the thinker may well make some modifications to his ideas which he had reached in his previous stages
