CIE Physics Paper-1: Specimen Questions 10 - 11 of 109
Question number: 10
There is magnet XY. X is attracted when it is placed near to the north pole of the magnet, and also when it is placed near to the south pole. Find behavior of Y when placed, near to the two poles of the magnet?
Y near north pole – Attraction & Y near south pole – Attraction
Y near north pole – Repulsion & Y near south pole – Attraction
Y near north pole – Attraction & Y near south pole – Repulsion
Y near north pole – Repulsion & Y near south pole – Repulsion
Here we can write that metal rod XY from which X is attract to both poles of magnet, thus Y is also attract to both the poles, because metal doesn’t have any pole. It behaves same at both the ends.
