Explanation

Here,

(a) Left Hand Side (LHS) = 12+23=3+46=76

Thus, LHS = RHS.

(b) Left Hand Side (LHS) = 115+134=65+74=2420+3520=5920=2.95~2.1

Right Hand Side (RHS) = 2110=20+110=2110=2.1 .

Thus, LHS = RHS.

Find the below given calculations

(a) Given that length of Indian Flag is 1.5 times more than that of width, if width of flag is 60 cm, find length of the Indian flag.

(b) If ratio of width and length of flag is 2: 3, if length is 900 mm, find width of the flag.

Explanation

Here,

(a) Length of Indian Flag is 1.5 times more than that of width and width of flag is 60 cm.

So, 2 times means 60+60=120 , but here 1.5 times means 60+50%of60=60+30=90cm .

So, length will be 90 cm.

(b) Here, ratio of width and length of flag is 2: 3.

Length is 900 mm. Let’s take width = w.

So, ratio will be: 23=w900w=2×9003w=600mm .
