Figure shows lily flower. Which type of pollination occur in such flower?

Figure shows lily flower identify type of pollination

Explanation

Self pollination is the transfer of pollen from the anther to the stigma of the same flower. This method of pollination decrease the genetic diversity and much less common than cross-fertilization.

Advantage of self pollination:

  • If a given genotype is well-suited, self-pollination helps to keep this trait stable in the species
  • Not being dependent on pollinating agents allows self-pollination to occur when bees and wind are nowhere to be found
  • Self-pollination can be an advantage when the number of flowers are small or widely spaced.

Disadvantages of self-pollination:

  • Lack of variation
  • Reduced health of the species

Explain is monomer/Polymer cycle of proteins with the help of diagram.

Explanation

Image showing the monomer–polymer cycle

Image showing the monomer–polymer cycle

Image shows the inter conversion (amino acids) of monomer and polymer (protein)

The monomer–polymer cycle: It is a dehydration and hydrolysis process. In given diagram there are amino acids and protein are shown. The amino acids, which are monomers, are joined together by removal of H2O by dehydration synthesis process and make polymers (protein). When the protein is no longer required, it degrade by adding back the water molecule by hydrolysis process.
